This box is 9 inches long and 4 1/4 inches wide. I cut the top from 1/8 inch maple using a #2 blade. The top is backed up with a 1/8 inch piece of walnut. The box walls are cut from a 1 inch thick piece of walnut. The bottom is 1/4 inch maple.
This will make a nice jewelry box for a man. It's big enough for a watch, cuff links, ring and chain. It would be easy to add compartments to the box. Just draw the compartment lines in before you start cutting. Another interesting idea would be to fill the dragon cutout with liquid Inlace inlay material. You could also add flocking to the interior.
