I didn't have an answer for those questions. I just reacted to what I felt when I watched the events on television. I felt sick, I felt angry, I felt sorrow. I felt all the emotions that I'm sure many of you felt also. I designed the pattern because that's all I could do to show support. I think it might have even been a bit of personal therapy.
Wednesday all those same feelings came back. I'm on vacations this week so I watched many hours of the events in San Bernardino. I should have turned it off because most of the coverage was bad journalism at best. I watched so much that I stopped feeling bad for the people of the city. All I felt was anger. I had lost sight of what was important at this time. The important thing right now is to support the families of those who were injured or killed. It's important to thank the law enforcement personnel who seemed to have done an heroic job. It's important that we all let the citizens of San Bernardino know we care. To the injured we all wish you speedy recoveries.
I'm sure many of the people of the city feel a great deal of grief for the loss of their neighbors and friends. Your community will hurt, you will grieve and you will be stronger. No deranged people can steal that strength for you. Stand strong San Bernardino.
