2017 NCAA Men's Basketball Champions. North Carolina Tar Heels.

http://www.stevedgood.com/estore/estore.html
While I was in Atlanta, the North Carolina Tar Heels took care of business. They beat Gonzaga 71 to 65 to win the 2017 NCAA men's basketball championship. I have not had a chance to watch the game yet. We did not get back in town until late Tuesday. I have it on DVR and will sit down today and watch it. Congratulations to the Tar Heels and their fans. Great season.

Information:
My weekend in Atlanta at the 2017 Woodworking show was fun and tiring. I met many interesting people from the woodworking community. I caught up with some old friends and met a few that I hope will become old friends.

I stayed very busy at the Gwinnett Woodworkers Association booth. I talked more this weekend than I have in the last year. :) My voice held out but it was a close call. I thought it was gone after Friday but I stayed hydrated Saturday/Sunday and that seemed to help.

Monday night I was the guest speaker at the Gwinnett Woodworkers scroll saw special interest group. The meeting was held at the Peachtree Woodworker Supply store. They have a beautiful store and great facilities for meetings. Owner Dave Hughes and his wife Heather are fantastic hosts. Dave was kind enough to take me on a tour of the facilities early in the day. That was interesting to say the least. They ship product internationally and their facilities are quite impressive. After what I saw, they have become my go to online store for my woodworking supplies and tools. The warehouse is run like a well oiled machine.

The meeting was well attended and I hope everyone was entertained and informed. I demonstrated cutting metal on the scroll saw. We looked at coin and copper cutting for jewelry. Some in the audience had experience with cutting metal but most had not tried it yet. I hope we encouraged them to give it a try.

I had the new Seyco scroll saw on hand at the meeting so we talked about that for a while. The interest in this new machine seems very high. I brought it back to my shop and will be doing a full review within the next week or two. Watch for that.

We also gave out lots of free stuff which always makes speaking to a group of people easier. Early in the day my wife ask if I was nervous to speak in front of the group. I told her that I was not because I thought of these people as friends. That's exactly what it felt like when I was introduced. A room full of friends in a conversation. There were plenty of questions and participation. I enjoyed every minute and had to be told to wrap it up. I would have talked all night if they let me.

Many thanks to all those who attended the meeting. I had a great time and I hope you enjoyed it also.

Sorry for the delay:
After a long weekend out of town I am way behind on email. There are a few hundred waiting to be looked at. I will start going through them this morning. Please be patient with me and I'll get to as many as possible.

Remember to keep the safety of yourself and others in your work shop in your thoughts at all times. Always wear eye and ear protection. Follow all the manufactures warnings that came with your power tools. If I demonstrate something on this web site that you don't feel is safe, don't do it. Your safety is your responsibility. Fingers are handy things, try to keep all of them.
