Aluminum and Wood Pendants Scroll Saw Pattern.

Metal and wood look great together. Today's pattern is an aluminum and wood pendant. I included several designs to choose from and of course, you can come up with your own.

If you are not interested in cutting aluminum then you could also just use all wood for this jewelry.

The aluminum I used in this project is 1/16" thick Aluminum 3003 sheet. There are different grades of aluminum. This grade cuts easy but does not polish as well. The harder aluminum 6061 polishes to a higher sheen but is tougher to cut.  Those links are Amazon links to the different grades for sale.

I also purchased some of my aluminum from Metal Supermarkets. They have locations all over the US and they sell online. I'm sure you could do a little Googling and find a source in your hometown.

To cut the aluminum I used the Pegas #1 metal cutting blades. You can buy them from Bear Woods. These blades don't work well on thicker aluminum but for this thin stuff, they work great.

This image shows all the designs included in this pattern book.

Obviously simple shapes are easier to cut but more detailed cuts are possible. The little charm below was one I cut for my wife. It has our dog, Holly's name and a heart/paw.

Aluminum seems to be a pretty decent choice for inexpensive jewelry. It won't turn your skin green and from what I read very few people have any adverse reactions to it. I was able to find many examples of aluminum jewelry through a Google search.
