The Bezier tool in Corel Draw

I had a request from Jesse Williams in the Shout message box for a tutorial on the bezier tool in Corel Draw. To be honest I don't use the bezier tool often but I do know how to use it. I put together a short video that will show you the basics.

This tool can be used in many of the same ways that you have seen me use the pen tool. I find the pen tool much easier to use. You can use it to outline images to create scroll saw patterns. It can also be used to freehand patterns with enough practice.

Thanks Jesse for the request. If anyone has questions please feel free to email me or just put a message in the Shout box at the top of the blog.

Good luck learning to design scroll saw patterns with Corel Draw. It is a great application. The learning curve is not as bad as you might think. I am completely self taught from tutorials off the web and if I can learn it you can also.

If you are new here at the Scrollsaw Workshop look in the archive for other videos on Corel Draw.

The Road Rules

Bikes seem to be more popular today than ever. Make this project for the biker in your life. I cut this pattern from 1/2" oak but I think it might look better if the base was a contrasting hardwood.

This was a request from a reader. I thought it might be a pattern that several people would be interested in. I get several request for patterns. If I don't get around to the pattern you requested, I'm sorry. Sometimes I just can't come up with something that I like. I keep all the request logged and go back to them from time to time.

Dear Steve,

Since your last email requested that we send in our projects, I thought I'd send in my favorite. I got the basic pattern from a scroll saw pattern book but made a few changes. The original pattern had a mom, three kids and a dog. Since I am the mother of five children (with no dog), I had to delete the dog and add two kids and a husband.

Love your website!

Mary.......

Thanks Mary, I like the way you framed this piece. You also did a great job customizing the pattern.
