Fretwork Lamp Scroll Saw Pattern

Here is a pattern for a fretwork lamp I put together tonight. I kept things simple by using butt joints to assemble the lamp box. The top is drilled for the light kit. The light kit is a GE bottle lamp kit that I purchased at Walmat for under $5. You can throw away the rubber bottle stoppers for this project.

I used 1/2" thick clear pine for this lamp. I cut the entire project with a Flying Dutchman #5 scroll reverse blade. I stack cut the sides to speed up the project. From start to finish I have under four hours of time in the project. You could easily make a pair in a weekend. Excluding the lamp shade and bulb the entire project costs less than $10.

Notice how the wire is coming out the back of the socket in the picture below. When you assemble the lamp run the wire down through the threaded screw so the wire can be kept internal to the lamp and exit out the hole in the back panel.

I Believe in Angels Scroll Saw Pattern

I am trying to get caught up on reader requests. This is another pattern that has been requested more that a few times. Please keep in mind that when you request a pattern I try to do them according to if I think others will be interested also. This does not mean I won't do personalized patterns. Feel free to ask. Understand that some get done right away and other take quite some time.

Cowboy Mini Clock

A few weeks ago I posted the Cowgirl Mini Clock. I had several requests to make a matching Cowboy Mini Clock. I went ahead an included both clocks in the pattern book so you would not have to search for the other one if you want to cut them.
