Scroll Saw Blade Tension Software.

You may be asking how can a computer program could help you tension your scroll saw blades. Well it's actually very simple. The most common technique to tell if the blade is tensioned well is to pluck it like a guitar string and listen to the sound. A correctly tensioned blade is critical for accurate cuts. Too little tension and the blade will wander. Too much tension and you will become frustrated with broken blades.

It really does work well after you know what a well tensioned blade is suppose to sound like. I have tried to explain this in emails dozens if not hundreds of times. How do you explain a sound? Say it sounds like a C note? That only works for piano players. How many of you are music majors. Not many I suspect.

This program has a very simple purpose. It plays a sequence of sounds from a poorly tensioned blade up to a correctly tensioned blade. Play this sequence several times. The next time you go to your saw try to match the sound. After a few times it will become second nature.

The program needs no installation. Just download and unzip the file. Copy it to your desktop or directory of your choice. Start the program and click the play buttons. Simple.
