16 year old Michael shows some serious skills.

Michael is a 16 year old scroller who completed this wonderful piece of art for his year 11 tech project. There is some serious craftsmanship here. Any seasoned scroll saw artist would be proud to have this in their portfolio. Not only are the compound cut pieces exceptional the chess box stands out also. Notice the beautiful corner treatment.

The theme for Michaels's project was culture. He designed the pieces from buildings representing various cultures around the world.

Getting sharp detail in compound cuts can be difficult. Michael seems to have this down perfect. Just look at the detail he achieved.

When Michael sent me an email pointing me to his video this is what he said "If you have the time I would appreciate it if you could click on the video to see it, and let me know your thoughts. If you do not have the time then it's okay." Well Michael not only do I have the time for anything you send me I am taking the time to make sure thousands of other scrollers get the opportunity to see your skill.

In the following videos Michael shows how he made the box and the compound cut pieces. Please take a few minutes to check these out. Visit Michael's YouTube channel and leave him some comments.
