The Gwinnett Woodworkers club records videos of their meeting and share them on Youtube. They are usually quite long and the camera work suffers a little but there is so much info that it's worth overlooking the flaws. This video is about marquetry. This is the definition. Marquetry (also spelled as marqueterie) is the art and craft of applying pieces of veneer to a structure to form decorative patterns, designs or pictures (from Wikipedia). When you have some extra time take a look at this video. It might lead you into another area of working with your scroll saw.

GWA President Bob Brokaw discusses the processes he has developed to produce fine marquetry using the scroll saw. He first defines the technique, then demonstrates a method of cutting parts to be assembled onto a subtrate panel.
