Let's Go Racing Scroll Saw Pattern.
Patty and I are spending this weekend at
the Kentucky Speedway. We did the truck race Thursday night, the Nationwide Friday and we will be at the Sprint Cup race today. The weather has been great except for a rain out late in the Nationwide race. The last two years the heat was a killer. It was very comfortable Friday.
I decided to put together a racing theme pattern since it's on my mind. This pattern book should have the number of your favorite driver.

Desktop CD Holder Scroll Saw Pattern.
Here is
a simple and useful pattern. I have a fairly large collections of music CD's. I seem to listen to a few of them more often than the rest. When I want them they are buried with the others and hard to find. I built this small CD holder to keep them separate.

Free Scroll Saw Personal Massager Pattern.
Here is a scroll saw project you can make in just minutes. This wooden massager is made using wooden toy wheels. You can also cut your own wheels if you want. I used 1.25 inch diameter wheels because that's what I had available. 2 inch wheels would be better for back massage. These work good for leg and arm massages.
I hope everyone had a great fathers day. My daughter took me out to dinner and a movie. We saw the new Star Trek movie. It was corny and predictable but it was fun. I grew up with Star Trek. I'm sure I have seen every episode ten times at least. It was a nice day out.

Don't forget about dad this weekend.
Father's Day
is this weekend. Make sure you take some time to let him know how important he is in your life. I lost my father when I was a young boy. He was the biggest influence in my life even though he passed when I was so young. I still look back and remember many good times we spent together. I will be thinking about him this weekend and telling him how much I miss him.

Simple Mantle Clock.
This is
a very simple clock to put together. It stand seven inches tall. There is not a lot of scroll saw cutting involved. The curves of the legs and the bottom bezel were cut on the scroll saw. You can cut the hole for the clock insert with the scroll saw but it's more accurate with a forstner bit. You do need to be accurate when cutting the curves or you will have a lot of sanding to do. Imperfections in the leg curves will really stand out so take your time.
The bevels on each end of the top are a bit of a challenge. You can either use the table saw and jig to make the cut or cheat like I did. I just marked the angle on the edge of the wood and used my disc sander to sand to the line. You have to go slow to keep things straight but it was fast and it worked.
All the wood for the clock is 1/2 inch thick except the legs. They are 1 inch thick. I tried to make the legs from 3/4 inch wood but they didn't look beefy enough. If at all possible use 1 inch wood for the legs.

Snake and Dagger Free Scroll Saw Pattern
My daughter just bought a new home. She has been saving for a couple years and closed on her new home last week. We spent this weekend moving her in. I am very proud of her. She knew what she wanted and she put the effort into making it happen.
Sorry for the slow last few days here on the blog but as you can tell we had other things to take care of. I'll try to get back in the groove next week.
