Scotty McCreery Concert.

Patty and I had the pleasure of attending the Scotty McCreery concert tonight. After the concert we met with Scotty and his family at the meet and greet. Scotty put on one hell of  a concert.

We have been American Idol fans for years. I think I'm the only guy I know who actually admits to being a fan of the show. I just like to be entertained. Carrie Underwood and Scotty are our two favorite Idol winners.

The concert was at the Horseshoe Casino in Indiana. As you can tell from the picture we had good seats. We were dead center first row about two feet from the stage.  Scotty played for a solid hour and a half. He sang several songs from his latest album. He played a couple songs slated for his next album. One of my favorite parts of the show was when he covered several legends hits including Hank Williams Sr, Johnny Cash and Elvis.

For such a young artist he is very mature on stage. He had the audience standing and very much into the show.

Hope I didn't bore you all too much with the non scroll saw post but I'm sitting in the Casino hotel trying not to go lose any more money in the slots. They only got me for about $70 and I don't want to give them any more:)

Fast way to repair broken fretwork.

You know the feeling. You just spent hours cutting your scroll saw project and it breaks. Either you drop it or it just breaks at a weak spot. It happens to everyone sooner or later. Don't worry it can almost always be repaired.

The first attempt most scrollers make is to use yellow wood glue to repair the break. It works but has limitations. Yellow wood glue has a long set time. Most of the time when fretwork breaks it's difficult to clamp the pieces while the glue sets. You have to hold it in place for several minutes and hope the bond is good enough. Many times with a little handling it will break again.

A better method is to use CA glue(Super Glue). I highly recommend purchasing a CA glue that is designed specifically for wood. I like the Titebond Instand Bond wood adhesive and activator. It set in seconds and the bond is better than yellow wood glue. In most cases after you sand the broken area the break will be next to invisible.
