Small Chef Cutting Board Scroll Saw Pattern.

Sometimes you only need a small cutting board. This one is small enough to throw in a drawer. You should use a hardwood such as hard maple, black walnut etc. Woods such as poplar and pine should be avoided. They won't last long. I would also avoid exotics as some contain oils that can cause an allergic reaction in some people.    

Mineral oil is a good food safe finish for cutting boards. While almost any modern day finish is food safe when completely cured they are frowned upon. People will be skeptical if you tell them you used something other than a natural finish.
