Simple three tea light candle holder.

Sometimes a very simple project can be fun. This three tea light candle holder is almost Shaker inspired in design. If you left out the interior cuts it would be even more Shaker like. All you need is a board that is 2.25 inches wide and 10.5 inches long. This is one of those projects that uses so little wood you might even use some of that exotic stock you have laying around.

You will also need a forstner bit to drill out the recesses for the tea lights. My electric tea lights were 1.5 inches in diameter so that is the size bit I used. If you chose a different size candle make sure to change the bit size. Forstner bits are not cheap but they come in very handy if you can pick some up. You can buy them individually or in sets.

If you don't have a forstner bit then just use 1/2" thick wood and cut the holes with your saw. The tea light will still stand proud of the top and look fine.
