Nested Elephant Scroll Saw Pattern.

I have seen several of these nested animal patterns on the web. I thought I would give one a try. It's a simple pattern to cut and you can use a 3/4 inch board. The baby is cut from the same board and slides out from the mother.

If you would like to have all the patterns in the Scrollsaw Workshop catalog you can buy the first six years DVD and the 2013 update DVD at this link. DVD #1 is $20 and contains over 1,100 patterns. The 2013 update DVD is $7.50 and has another 178 patterns.

Shadow Box Scroll Saw Pattern.

This pattern requires two sheets of 12 inch X 12 inch X 1/4 inch thick Baltic Birch ply. The bird and tree patterns are cut from one sheet then painted black. Standoffs are glued to the back to hold the tree away from the backer board. A 1 inch deep frame is made to hold the project. I did not include instructions for creating the frame. I'll leave that to you depending on the tools you have available.
