This pattern is 10.5 inches tall. I would suggest using two different contrasting woods for the front and back so the image stand out.
If you own the DeWalt DW788 scroll saw you may want to take a look at this product. The Lifter is an accessory that keeps the upper arm in the up position while installing blades. If you have been using a block of wood to keep the arm up then do yourself a favor and check out The Lifter at
