Crown of Thorns Scroll Saw Pattern.

The Crown of Thorns pattern is cut from 3/4" thick wood for both the portrait and the backer. That will give it a nice solid look. You will need a couple of 8 inch wide boards. Contrasting woods will look nice but using the same species for both  the front and back will be fine. The cut out of Jesus is deep enough that it will grab the light and show shadows.

Leonard Nimoy passed away last Friday. Nimoy was best known as Mr. Spock on the 1960s TV series Star Trek. I grew up with the Star Trek series and watched all the movies. I would not say I was a trekkie but the series was a contributor to my passion with computers. A few years ago I did a scroll saw portrait of Mr. Spock. I thought I would post it again for any of you who would like remember Mr. Spock. Just click the image to download the pattern.
