Bass Hunter Scroll Saw Pattern. Safety check time.

I know there are a lot of folks waiting for the weather to break so they can hit the lakes. While you wait cut this Bass Hunter wall plaque. You can hang it next to that trophy bass you are going to catch.

What a difference a few days can make. Last week I was dealing with 15 plus inches of snow. Today we hit 64 degrees. It was raining but I loved the warm up. With all the weather my shop has been neglected and is a disaster. The temps are going to stay nice for several day so I'm hoping to get in the shop and clean.

This is the time of year that I spend a few minutes checking out my shop safety. Here are a few things we should all inspect.

1. Are walk paths clear of tripping hazards?
2. Is the first aid kit available and stocked?
3. Do you have metal containers for oily rags and combustible material with lids. Dispose of the material when no longer needed.
4. Are flammable liquids stored properly?
5. Check all safety guards are in place for power tools.
6. Are all your blades sharp. A sharp blade is a safer blade.
7. Is you fire extinguisher charged and readily available.
8. Do you have personal protection equipment ready to use. (Eye protection, dust mask, push sticks etc..)
9. Read or re-read the manual that comes with your power tools. Know how to use your tools in the safest way possible.
10. Check all power cords and replace any that are frayed or split.

None of these steps take much time and can save you from costly repairs and possibly serious injury or death. Every few months I get email from a reader telling me they lost their shop to fire. It happens. Don't let it happen to you.

The bass graphic for this pattern was supplied by cliparts.co and modified for cutting by me.
