March 29th, Vietnam Veterans Day Scroll Saw Pattern.

Vietnam Veterans Day commemorates the sacrifices of Vietnam veterans and their families and is part of a national effort to recognize the men and women who were denied a proper welcome upon returning home more than 40 years ago.

Most states celebrate “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” on March 29 or 30 of each year. Though there is some debate, March 29 is generally viewed as a more appropriate date. On that day in 1973, the last combat troops were withdrawn from Vietnam and the last prisoners of war held in North Vietnam arrived on American soil. It is also the date President Nixon chose for the first Vietnam Veterans Day in 1974.

Of the 2,709,918 Americans who served in Vietnam, Less than 850,000 are estimated to be alive today, with the youngest American Vietnam veteran's age approximated to be 54 years old. If you have a Vietnam Veteran in your family take the time to honor their service.

12.5 inch tall F-15 Eagle Plaque Scroll Saw Pattern.

I made this pattern large so the fretwork would be easier to cut.  The fretwork has a lot of inside cuts and will tend to get fragile. Take your time and plan your cuts. The pattern will print out on four 8.5 X 11 inch pages. You will need to tape the pages together to make a complete pattern before you apply it to your wood blank.
