This bracket pattern can be used for a shelf. You could probably put the short edge against the wall and make a hanging basket bracket. Just use your imagination.
The pattern book has two sizes of the bracket. The one in the picture is 8.25 inches tall and the larger one is 10.25 inches tall. For this one I used 1/2" thick wood. The larger one can be cut from 3/4" thick wood.
