Doug has two Delta Q3 scroll saws. One in his shop at home and the other on the ship. The saw has lived on three ships and has been as far East as the Mediterranean and as far West as Singapore. The saw is located in the engine room where the light is not great. He prints the patterns in red for better visibility. Doug cuts all his projects from scrap wood he finds on board the ship and some mail order craft wood.
Doug says "Scrolling is a way to make me feel attached to my workshop when I am away at sea, and also a great way to relax and get my mind off of the job during my off hours."
I love hearing these stories from my readers. It's so inspirational to hear what people will overcome to pursue our great hobby. Thanks Doug.
