$3 PDF Catalog Update to 3.0. Please read the instructions in this post before you do the update.

Important: Please read and understand the instructions below. Remember there two ways to get the patterns from this system. The Windows version and the Online Version that works with all OS's. The update you select will depend on which you use.

I have updated the $3 Pattern Catalog to version 3.0. The update is free to those who have already purchased this product. This update includes the patterns added since Aug, 8th 2016 to Sep, 18th 2016. You can download the update from the download page. If you have the Windows version above you can click the "Click to check for updates" link on the program.(Like the picture above)

If you are using the Online version(For Mac/Linux/iPad/tablet and Windows) of the program click the "Check latest version" link on the online version page. If you bookmarked the download page as suggested at purchase you can simply return to that bookmark and download the latest version.(Like the picture below)

If you are using the online version make sure you delete the old version of the catalogindex.pdf and use the new version. After you open the catalog you should see version 3 at the bottom of the page.

If you would like to purchase the $3 PDF catalog you can do so at this link. Please watch the video on the order page so you know what you are buying. If you decide you do not like the program or cannot use it for some reason please contact me for a refund. Please do not create a PayPal complaint or a credit card charge back. I will take care of refunds no questions asked.

I want you to enjoy the catalog and I will do my best to help you with install problems. The installation does require basic computer skills. I won't always be able to help if you do not have these skills and I may have to ask you to get local help. Some things are very difficult to teach through email. I hope you understand.

Remember the official online catalog is available for free and can be accessed from the blog. The $3 PDF catalog is a convenience addition for those who like to browse the patterns more quickly.

Woodworking in America video and a Name Maker Pattern Book.

I attended the Woodworking in America show in Covington Ky. I spent Friday at the marketplace and enjoyed it very much. For a Friday the show had good attendance. I never felt crowded at any of the demonstrations but there were always several visitors in front of the booths. I did not see much buying going on but that's typical for the first day.

I didn't take my full camera gear with me but I did shoot a lot of video with my iPhone. I put together a sampling of what the show had to offer. If you have never attended one of these show you might enjoy seeing some of what they have to offer.

The video is best viewed full screen in HD

This pattern book has a complete set of letters and number with bases. There are two sizes.

For a size reference the ruler in the picture is 12 inches long. This is the large set of letters.

I sized the base for each letter so the spacing is correct when the letters are sit side by side.

This could be a nice demonstration for a craft show. Charge $1.5 per letter. Cut the letters onsite. Each letter can be cut in under 2 minutes.  Cut lots of blanks from MDF before the show. MDF is cheap and you can get approximately 200 blanks for the large letters from a 4' X 4' sheet. At the current price of MDF that would be about 10 cents per blank. You will leave the letters bare and inform the customer how to paint with their favorite color.

The biggest cost will be copying the patterns before the show. Using the letter frequency chart below to make copies have the pattern ready to go and in folders by alphabetical order. You could have the patterns pre-cut. If you start out with 15 or 20 copies of the letter E (two E's per page) you are going to spend about $20-$50 on copies. Don't over do it. When you run out you will know how many to make for the next show. Don't forget to take a hand drill for the entry hole of QROPADB letters. Take an extra battery if you have one.

After expenses not including time. If you cut 20 names at the show you would make ~ $150 after expenses. That's a nice payoff considering you are cutting to bring customers into your booth. These are easy to cut leaving you free to talk with the customers. They will love to see you cutting the letters. Make sure you show them how small the blades are.

You will need an assistant to run your booth so you can cut.

This is just a suggestion to give your craft booth an interesting demonstration.
