Train Station Scroll Saw Pattern.

http://www.stevedgood.com/estore/estore.html
This train station pattern is 10" X 8". I like to use 1/8" thick Baltic birch plywood for this type of project. You can cut two or three at a time by stack cutting. The stack is actually easier to cut than one. It gives you a little resistance and helps control.

Information:
Let me quickly address the flood of email I caused yesterday. I received a few hundred email telling me that I should not have deleted the "Bang Head" pattern. Let me be clear that I also considered it a bit of an over reaction. I responded to the writer who ask me to consider taking it down with my thoughts to that point. I do not believe his intentions were anything other than caring.

I do not believe there was any real danger in the pattern. I don't believe we can sanitize the world from all harm. Most of us grew up in a time when our parents sent us outside in the morning and we only came home to eat. We played with BB guns, rode our bikes off ramps and played with fire. (I am not endorsing any of these acts.)

The reason I took it down was simple. Liability. The patterns value was only good for a laugh. It's value did not rise to the level of accepting any liability even if that was unlikely. My blog posts are read by thousands of people every day. That always puts me and my family at some minimal risk. This was not a case where it was worth increasing that risk so I deleted it. The writer of the original email did not make me delete the pattern. He was simply pointing out his personal life experience. I will never fault a person for expressing a point of view. Even if I don't agree.

The email I received from of you all was very supportive and I appreciate that. I just wanted you to know why I took the action I did.

MLCS 9080 Billy Pedal Foot Switch, Deadman Style

I always recommend you use a foot switch with a scroll saw. It gives you greater control of the work piece. I have one on all my saws and would not cut without one. You want a dead mans style switch. It's on as long as your foot is pushing on the switch. It stops when you lift your foot.

  • Hands-free router control means both hands on your work for safety and control
  • No need to free a hand to hunt for your router switch
  • 5 star performance and price
  • Greatly enhances router safety
  • MLCS quality guaranteed
