Information: Free 3D files for the Coin Cutting Jig now available in my eStore.

The 3D print files for the Coin Cutting jig are now available in my eStore. You can download and print this jig for free. Of course you will need access to a 3D printer.

As you can see from the pictures below I have modified it quite a bit from the last time I showed it. I have gone with metal nuts and bolts for added strength. The nuts are captured inside the base. The keeper is then epoxied to the base to permanently trap the nuts. The pictures below explain the assembly.

The best solution for keeping the quarter from spinning inside the jig is to press fit it into the hole with a small piece of paper. Then install the flange and four bolts. The bolts do not have to be over tightened but once the epoxy cures it is now very strong.

If you have been looking to get into coin cutting on the scroll saw this will be a handy jig to have.

I will make the jig for you for a fee. I can only make a few at a time and because of the time involved it will be more than I want to charge. I'll have to charge $40 plus shipping. US only. So print it yourself if at all possible.

Many cities are now making makers spaces available. Check your yellow pages. Many libraries are also installing maker spaces wit laser, CNC and 3D printers. That is a great option if available.

The jig has changed significantly since this video but it will still give you an idea of how it works. The jig is just stronger now with metal bolts and nuts.

QIDI TECHNOLOGY 3DP-QDA16-01 Dual Extruder Desktop 3D Printer

Okay I am officially addicted to 3D printing. I love the little Momoprice Select Mini printer I bought but I wanted bigger. I bought a QIDI Tech 1. This thing is a monster. So far the print quality and speed are amazing. The technical support out of China is very good. I received an answer via email in about 30 minutes.

I did a lot of research and this was an option I could afford but still had very high customer satisfaction. If you are looking for a substantial 3D printer that won't totally break the bank I think this is a great deal.

  • Fdm technology; dual Extruder; obtained CE,FCC, RoHS certificates; qidi technology is registered trademark by edify technology Inc
  • Aviation level aluminum plate its surface is completely flat and will NOT warp during heating process
  • Easy to Use software for simple customization of 3D models
  • Fully metal external frame much more stronger than PVC plate and wooden frame
  • New high heat resistant metal platform supports replace plastic supports
