Information:

A few days ago I talked about my 3D printed scroll saw coin cutting jig in a blog post.  I had mentioned that the jig would be better if it were made from aluminum. Well one of the great things about having a large audience is that there are readers from every walk of life and occupation.

John Kluskiewicz wrote me an email saying the he is a tool and die maker. He had seen the blog post and said he would send me a jig he made from 1/2" aluminum. He milled the jig and drilled and tapped a hole for a tightening bolt. This is a beautiful piece of hardware.

The quarter is held in place perfectly. You can insert and remove the quarter with a couple of turns of a hex key.
Tonight I took John's coin cutting jig in the shop for a quick test. I cut the Kentucky and Oklahoma quarters below. I am no where near as good as some of the pro coin cutters I have seen but it was fun to do. They need to be cleaned up with a small file.

You can find jewelry coin mounts on Amazon and Ebay for as low as $7.99. That does not include the chain.
I am working with John to try and see if these can be made at a reasonable price for the average scroll saw user. I'll let you know if it works out. Let me know if this is something you would be interested in.

In the mean time you can use a DIY wooden coin cutting jig I made several years ago. Here are links to a two part video I did on the wooden jig.

Part 2

You can also download the free 3D file from my eStore if you have access to a 3D printer.
