Jay Bates is another YouTube Woodworking Content Creators I follow. In this video he shows how he builds his low cost but very sturdy workbench. This is not an easy project and he uses several power tools but it's a nice build. You can take some short cuts if you do not have all the tools he uses and still come up with a decent and sturdy workbench.

If you plan to build a workbench for your shop I have one tip. Make it heavy and flat. I used pretty much used the same techniques as Jay to build my workbench. My top is not quite as thick as his but it's close. It's one tool that I use for every project I make. It's worth the time and money to make the best workbench you can afford.
