Special Guest: A Family Affair.

I love to hear the stories of people in the hobby. I have been in contact with Elwood Cook for a few months now as he and his family start a growing business with their scroll saws. They use several of my patterns which is exactly why I publish them. Below are a few pictures and their story as told by Elwood.

On the right of the pic is me, Elwood Cook , my wife Crystal is next to me & our 15 year old daughter (today is her birthday) Abby is next to my wife.

On the left is my wife's sister Dana Fink and then Her husband , my brother in law Tom Fink.

My brother in law & myself are the official business partners on the legal paperwork.

Last June , Tom and I took our wives & my daughter Abby out to eat at a place here called rustic garden. As we were leaving , Our wives spied an old potted plant shelf outside the restaurant that was rickety. They both fell in love with it. Said they each wanted one. Tom & I went and bought the lumber for 4 of them the next day ha.

While we were building them, we joked that we should go into business together. We did just that, we bought saws, lumber, tools and I taught myself how to scroll.

Now , we own 4 scroll saws, have shipped items to 25 states, have just had our first show today and the orders are thru the roof, also we have a couple stores selling my stuff. With other stores interested.

My daughter scrolls, as does my wife and myself. Tom is also sawing.

We all sand, paint, cut and assemble now. Its amazing to be a successful family business doing something were so very passionate about.

We donate to 6 worthy causes from our sales. Its truly not only a job for me , its a passion . we believe since we're so very Blessed that paying it forward lots is a must.
