RIP Adam West. Batman Scroll Saw Patterns.

Adam West passed away last Friday. Mr. West was known for his role of Batman in the 1960's TV show. He was 88 years old. 

It's difficult to explain to the younger kids today that we only had a couple of TV channels to watch back then. When a TV show like Batman was on everyone watched it. Guys like Adam West became heroes to lot's of kids. Don't even get me started on how much we loved Roy Rogers and Lassie. Remember when the nightly news only lasted an hour? We turned off the TV when it signed off at night. "Ladies and Gentlemen, this concludes today's scheduled broadcast." And we went to bed.

Batman and the original Adventures of Superman with George Reeves were must watch TV for me. Just think, we had to actually watch the show when it came on and we could not skip the commercials. Other than sports I hardly ever watch a TV show live now. If the phone rang we had to walk into the kitchen and try to stretch the cord so we could talk and still see the TV.

When Lawrence Welk would come on my Grandfather would run us kids out of the house and we had to actually play outside. No one worried someone was going to steal us either. We would get on our bikes and ride around the neighborhood.

It's crazy to think how much has changed since 1966 when Batman first aired. Rest in peace Batman.
