Golf. The game we love to hate. Scroll Saw Pattern.

http://www.stevedgood.com/estore/estore.html
Every golfer I know can relate to this plaque. Ask any golfer and they will tell you that it can be one of the most frustrating games to master. Golf is as much mental as it is physical. Just when you think you have your swing mechanics down you have a day when the fairway feels five foot wide.

Enter the Bear Woods $50 Gift Certificate Giveaway:

I have been telling Stephen, the owner of Bear Woods that this is a poor time of the year to do a giveaway. My blog usually slows down quite a bit this time of year. I'm glad he didn't listen to myself because you guys are doing a great job of getting your entries in. Make sure you continue to get your entries in everyday. 26 days left.

Information:

Occasionally I will receive an email letting me know that a particular product can be purchased cheaper from a seller other than Bear Woods. I always appreciate the feedback but I don't select sponsors just by cost. I put my reputation somewhat on the line when I recommend a company. I want to be as confident as possible that the sponsor takes care of their customers.

That's exactly how I feel about Stephen and Bear Woods. No company is perfect and that includes Bear Woods. The question is how do they step up when there is a problem.  I have had enough email from readers about Bear Woods to know that they try very hard to take care of their customers.

Recently when I talked to Stephen about a reader of mine who mentioned that they were back ordered on one size of Pegas scroll saw blade, Stephen worked with the supplier and increased inventory. Keep in mind that during the slow months, a business wants to keep inventory low. Stephen did just the opposite just to make sure his customers get what they need in a reasonable time.

I only work with a couple of sponsors. Bear Woods and Heritage Wood Specialties. The reason I work with them is because I get email asking for good places to buy scroll saw blades and wood for scroll saw projects. Both businesses were recommended to me by you guys. I don't take cash compensation from either sponsor. I bartered for supplies. I can't keep up with the quality of the product unless I see it on a regular basis. Taking material from the sponsors let's me see what's going on.

I know that there are other great online retailers for our hobby. I want them all to be supported. It's just good for the hobby to have a selection to choose from. I do ask that if you have the need to try a different vendor then give Bear Woods and Heritage wood specialties a try.

DEWALT DW788 1.3 Amp 20-Inch Variable-Speed Scroll Saw

The DeWalt DW788 scroll saw is probably the most popular saw on the market even after all these years. It's a reasonable priced option that allows for very few compromises. If you want a scroll saw that gives the big boys a run for their money at a slightly over entry level price, this is a great choice.
  • Double parallel-link arm design dramatically reduces vibration and noise for extremely accurate cuts
  • Exclusive tool-free blade clamps allow blade changes in seconds
  • On-off switch, electronic variable speed, flexible dust blower, and blade-tensioning lever all located on front upper arm
  • Arm design pivots from back of the saw to front, shortening the arm movement for smoother, quieter operation
  • Arm lifts so blade can be easily threaded through the material for inside cuts
