I survived the 2017 Midwest Scroll Saw Trade Show.

http://www.stevedgood.com/estore/estore.html
What a weekend. Thank you to all the wonderful people who attended the show. I enjoyed speaking to so many of you and sharing the experience.

I want to thank the Veterans Freedom Center and Karen Boelman of The Art Factory for organizing the show. You all should be very proud of what you accomplished. It's my first time at the show and it was fantastic. The show ran like a finely oiled machine. I don't think Karen ever sat down. She was always there making sure everyone was taken care of. Very impressive.

I want to thank Seyco for hosting me in their booth. Congratulations on a successful show. I am constantly impressed with Seyco's customer service. It was a pleasure watching them take care of customers and even those who were just browsing. You guys are the best.

I especially want to thank my wife Patty. She helped manage the giveaways and talked to folks who had questions about my blog. She answered questions I didn't even know she knew the answers to. :)

We are going to get a good nights sleep then hit the road early in the morning. We have about ten hours to get home. I have more video of the show and I'll edit it when I get home. My internet connection here is not good enough to upload a longer video.

Religious Framed Word Art.

 Framed religious word art.

I met David Carr at the trade show today. He showed me some beautifully framed word art that I just loved. He cuts the word art then glues it to a fabric covered canvas. The canvas is then framed for a beautiful effect. You can get creative with the choice of fabric for a personal touch.

Below are two pictures of David's work. I think you will agree that it presents the scroll work beautifully. Thanks David.

What a wonderful day. The Midwest Scroll Saw and Woodworking Trade Show started today. When to doors opened there were already many people in line. All the booths were staying quite busy.

I peaked into a couple of the class rooms and the attendance looked strong there also.

I was in the Seyco booth and we were very busy all day. It slowed down a little in the afternoon but just enough to catch your breath. I had the easy job. I just had to stand there and talk to everyone. And boy did I talk. I met so many interesting and nice people today that I didn't even stop for a break.

There were people from Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Ohio and I lost count.  I received so many complimentary remarks about my blog that it made my year. I just can't tell you how nice it is to meet the people who make what I do worth while. It is an amazing group of people.

I was so busy running my mouth that I actually did not attend even one booth. I did get a few minutes to walk around the brag tables and the contest tables. The video below shows just a few minutes of that walk around. I will do my absolute best to get much more of the show videoed tomorrow. My gimble broke so I will have to hand hold the camera tomorrow. That will make the videos a little shaky but I'll do my best to get some good shots for you guys. so we left a

After the show ended many of us met at a park on the river for a great picnic. The food was good the scenery was incredible and the company was even better. Patty and I were both pretty worn out so we left a little early and came back to the room.

I had just about as much fun today as I am capable of having. If tomorrow is half as good of a time that will make for a perfect weekend.

I am really sorry but I stayed so busy today that I shot very little video. Here are a few clips that show some of the projects on the contest tables and the brag table. There are also a few shots of the picnic.
