Stacked Ring Basket Scroll Saw Pattern.

I made this six inch stacked basket from pine and walnut. The contrast is nice and I like the way the grain of the pine looks on basket weave projects. 

Home Depot sells laminated spruce pine boards that are 17.5" X 48". The sizes seem to vary sometimes. These are really pretty decent for some scroll saw work. They are nice and large and only cost around $13. The only negative is that they are milled to .65 inches thick. You can usually compensate for the thickness but some projects need a more standard .5 or .75 inch thick board. 

This pattern calls for .75 inch thick boards for the weave. I used the .65 laminated board and it looks fine. If you have .5 inch thick boards you can just add a extra ring to make the basket taller.
