Introducing Woody the 42 inch tall Scroll Saw Pattern.

http://www.stevedgood.com/estore/estore.html
I would like to introduce you to Woody. He stand 42 inches tall. Actually he hangs 42 inches tall. He would enjoy hanging out at your house this Halloween.

Woody was cut from a spruce project panel that I purchased at Home Depot for $13. The panels are a little short of 3/4" thick. They are 16" wide and 48" long.

I was able to cut Woody from start to finish including layout in two and a half hours. He is quick to make because there are not that many interior cuts. The spruce is also very easy to cut and you don't have to be super accurate with your cuts.

The pieces are tied together with six inch white zip-ties but you could probably use a thick string.

The following is a pictorial of the assembly of Woody.
 Panel layout.
Cross cut then rip cut the boards to the correct size blanks
Apply the patterns to the blanks
 Drill all the interior holes.
On to the scroll saw for all the fun.
Mark the connector holes with an awl then remove the patterns.
Use a 1/8" drill bit to drill all the connector holes.
Insert the zip-ties from the back. Don't pull them to tight.
You want Woody to be able to move a little.
 Cut the zip-ties.
They look like stiches from the front. Kind of cool.
I used a saw tooth hanger so Woody can hang out in my house.
