_______________

This heart picture frame requires a 2 3/4" picture insert. I used this one from Bear Woods. The insert is only $7 but you may want to wait until you need other items so the shipping does not sting so much. The shipping on the frame alone sent to my house is only $5.62 using the small packet shipping option. I would probably order some blades while I was at it just to get my money's worth. I always need blades any way.

The clock is obviously a simple pattern but there is one thing to keep in mind. When you cut the two hearts apart you want to keep the kerf as thing as possible. If you use too thick of a blade the two pieces will fit together with too much slop.

I used a #5 for all the cuts except the center cut. I switched to a #1 for that cut. After applying finish that allowed the pieces to slide together and still not be sloppy.

I did not glue the pieces back together. When you want to stand the frame up just slide then about 3/4 apart and the frame stands just fine on it's own.

A new product in my shop:

I use spray finishes on most of my projects. They are fast and if you are careful can give a nice finish. I normally use a matte or semi gloss mostly because the gloss is more difficult to apply without flaws. At least that has been my experience until now.

I recently ran across the Rust-o-Leum Triple Thick Glaze. I have now used it a couple of times and it works pretty well. You can still cause runs by applying it too thick but it's not as bad as other finishes I have been using. As it's name implies it goes on thicker than other clear spray finishes. It seems to seek level and the puddles and drips work themselves out. At least they do if you don't go crazy with the stuff.

It dries to the touch in a few minutes and cures in 24 hours.  The gloss is what I would call high gloss which is not always desired but when you want gloss this will give it. I have not tried it yet but I believe you could get a near glass finish if you sanded between coats with a micro sand paper. Maye you could even wet sand it after it cured.

The link above is my Amazon affiliate link but I bought mine at Meijers department store. I searched the web sites of Home Depot and Lowe's and they both carry it. It showed available at both stores in my town.  Please check online for availability before you travel to purchase.
