Challenging Round Tray Puzzle Scroll Saw Pattern.

http://www.stevedgood.com/estore/estore.html
When you are cutting this pattern it is tempting to cut the border and the puzzle from one piece of wood. That does not work very well in this case. It leaves clues to where the pieces fit. In the pattern the cut out in the border is a little bit larger than the puzzle. This allows the puzzle to fit inside the border and leaves no clues.

The pattern has the puzzle in two sizes. 7 inches square and 5 inches square.

The puzzle is more challenging than it looks. Especially if you do not differentiate the pieces tops and bottoms.

Sneak Peek: Upcoming Pattern.

Here is a sneak peak of a pattern I am working on. My daughter, Kellie was looking at my Nativity project and she had a good idea. She said that the pieces might make a good chess set. I thought that sounded like a great idea. I took the basics of the Nativity pieces and added new pieces to come up with a complete chess set.

I have all the pieces designed but I have only cut these three test pieces. This is the King, Knight and Rook. They are considerably scaled down from the nativity pieces. The base is a 1.5 inch diameter disk.

I will work on these for the next few days. I think I have a few small changes to make.
