Want to stay warm this winter?

I had an email yesterdays asking how I heat my workshop(Two car garage). I am pretty lucky that when my house was built they did a nice job of insulating the garage and garage door. It's not too difficult to heat unless it gets in the single digits.

I have always used a Kerosene heater. I have had two of these Dyna-Glo heaters over about ten years. The first one died after seven years and I'm on the second one now. When it's under freezing I can run this heater on low to medium and be comfortable. If I put it on high it will run you out of the garage it gets so hot.

I try to start it about 15 minutes before I want to start working and it's warm enough when I get in the shop. I have no problem working even at 60 degree F so I often turn it completely off after the shop walls get warm.

I buy the fuel in a can at Lowes. I only go through one or two cans a year. We lost power for a week a few winters ago and I used this heater to emergency heat my entire down stairs of the house. We were warm enough to only need light sweaters. It was close to 0 F a couple of those days.

This heater gets 4.5 stars on Amazon.
