Stickman Self Portrait Scroll Saw Pattern.

I get slightly obsessed sometimes. A bit of an addictive personality. I may be going a little overboard with the stickman series but they are just so much fun to draw that I'm hooked. Today I was inspired to do a self-portrait. I promise I will slow down on these patterns and get back to something a bit more traditional. Until then I introduce the Good family.

Steve Good

Steve is a scroll saw pattern designer and total computer junkie. He spends his days designing patterns and drinking Diet Coke. He says that Diet Coke is the key to a successful design. Without the Diet Coke, Steve gets the shakes, curls up in the fetal position and mumbles incoherently.  3am runs to the grocery store are not out of the question if the supply gets too low. He said, "You gotta do what you gotta do to keep the designs coming".

Patty Good

Patty is the lovely, caring, smart and supportive wife of Steve(Extra points)). She is trying to convince Steve to stop telling corny stories about Stickman characters. When asked about the situation she said. "It's embarrassing, he is 60 years old and playing with little stickmen. I just don't know what to do.". Patty and Steve's daughter, Kellie thinks it's the Diet Coke. She read a study that says Diet Drinks affect the brain chemistry, producing mind-altering delusions and childish behaviors.

Holly Good

Holly takes Steve for walks and lets him go out back and play. Her sworn enemy is the mailman. She waits each day for her chance to scare him away with her most vicious bark and growl. She is proud that she makes him leave every time.

Another source for the Cross Laser Module:

Many of you let me know that you were unable to purchase the Laser Module I talked about in my recent "Problem Solved Video". They sold out quickly after the video went out in the newsletter. I found another Amazon source for the cross laser module. This one is even a few cents cheaper. If you missed the video you can watch it here. Video Link

The hours are counting down. Two of you are going to receive hundreds of dollars worth of gift certificates from Bear Woods. Take this final opportunity to sign up for your chance to win.

Winners are drawn at random so your chance is just as good as the next person to win.

Stickman Rodeo Scroll Saw Pattern.

The Stickmen are back at it again. This time they are on the Stickman Rodeo Circuit.

Jimmy "Dusty Butt" Calhoun

Jimmy has been a professional bull rider for two seasons. He has had every stick in his body broke at least once. Jimmy has never made an 8-second full ride. They don't call him Dusty Butt for nothing.

By the way, the bulls name is Stick Breaker. Stick is mean. How mean is he?  He is so mean that his cow chips have to be removed from his pin by a HAZMAT team.

Tex "Slim" McCoy

Tex is not a real cowboy. He just sits on the fence and tells everyone his name is Tex. Tex has broken every bone in his body at least once. He falls off the fence a lot.

Lonnie "No Legs" Rogers

Lonnie is one of the best rodeo clowns to ever jump in a barrel. Cowboys love him. Lonnie has never been married. He did not have a mother, father or brothers, and sisters. He was simply made from an old whiskey barrel. Lonnie plans to retire after this season. The other cowboys are going to take Lonnie's barrel and make him a girlfriend as a retirement gift. Now that's a thoughtful gift.

Phillip "The King" Mountbatten III

Phillip was in the second line to be the King of Stickastania. Before he could take his rightful place on the thrown the people of Stickastania formed an uprising and threw him out of the country. His crime? The people found out that Phillip was cut with a laser.

Phillip now works the circuit as a clown bullfighter. He hopes to one day return to Stickastania and convince the people that lasers are real woodworking. It will be a long hard fight.

$3 PDF Catalog updated to Version 13:

The $3 PDF Catalog is simply a large PDF file with thumbnails of all of my patterns. You can browse the thumbnails easily to find a pattern you wish to cut. You then enter the name of the pattern in the downloader program to get it.  It is just a much simpler way to see all my patterns than using the free online catalog. The $3 PDF Catalog is completely optional. You do not need to buy this to be able to get my patterns. It is just an add-on to make it easier.

The $3 PDG Catalog update for Version 13-3/29/2018 is now available for download. If you have previously purchased this product then use the link at the bottom of the program to go to the update download page.

Start the program and look for the update link.

If you do not use the Windows version you can check for the update from the Online search page you should have bookmarked.

Here is a video explaining the $3 PDF Catalog.

If you would like to order the $3 PDF Catalog you can find it at this link.

Heritage Wood Specialties:

I was asked about the wood I have been using for my Stickman series. I get most of my wood from Heritage Wood Specialties. I get a package from them every month in exchange for advertising. The picture above is one of my orders. I typically get Walnut and Maple. Those are by far my favorite species to cut.

One of their products is named Scrollsaw Blanks. These are glued up panels but they do a good job color matching the blanks. They come in different sizes but I get the 12" X 16" in 1/4" and 1/2" thicknesses. As an example, the 12" X 16" X 1/4" panel of walnut is $14.57.  The same size maple is $10.14. These are decent prices for scroll saw ready boards. Their shipping prices are also within industry standards. If you do not have the tools to mill your own scroll saw ready boards then give these guys a try.

These guys are a small mill. Their shipping can be a tad slow sometimes but the quality of the wood has always been great for me. I picked them as an advertiser because many of you emailed me with kind words about their service. I get very few complaints from my readers who use their wood.

Check out their website and give them a call if you have questions. While you are at it tell them I sent you. They will probably charge you extra because you know me. :)

Time is getting short. Enter now for a chance to win hundreds of dollars in free merchandise from Bear Woods.
