The popularity of drones just keeps growing. These devices are remarkably sophisticated electronic wonders. The best drones are equipped with sensors and software that allow the drone to travel for miles and return home with the push of a button. The drone cameras are just as remarkable.
We actually took our recent Thanksgiving Day photograph with my son-in-law's drone. That's right the drone was hovering perfectly still in my daughters living room and snapping high quality photos.
It felt like a scene out of a sci-fi movie.
This pattern is for all those drone pilots who spend their weekends up in the clouds.
Fixit.com Video on Replacing the DeWalt DW788 Control PCB:
There is a YouTube channel named Fix.com. They are affiliated with the web site with the same name www.fix.com. Fix.com sells parts for appliances and tools. I have never used their service but they have a BBB rating of A. The next time I need a part I'll order form them and see how the service is.
The YouTube channel has dozens of videos showing repairs of various appliances and power tools. They have over 1,500 videos. Most of the videos don't have many views but that is normal for a fix specific video. The guy doing the repair in this video has a good presentation with clear easy to follow instructions. The video is well lit and the audio is good.
Recently they have done a few repair videos on the DeWalt DW788 scroll saw. I have watched them and they are pretty basic. This one is a bit tougher of a repair challenge and gives some helpful insight to replacing the control PCB. This video also gives a couple simple indications of when the PCB may be the problem. These are by no means conclusive that the board is bad so if you plan a DIY repair you need to have some trouble shooting skills.
The control PCB is $84 on www.fix.com so their price is consistent with other online parts providers.
If you own a DW788 just keep this YouTube channel handy. It may be useful in the future. Especially if they continue to build up their library of scroll saw videos.
