Baseball Fanatic Scroll Saw Pattern.

Large Baseball Fanatic sign. 16" wide.

The MLB season is underway. If you are a big fan then this sign might look good in your man cave.

A Wonderful Surprise Gift:

I am a very lucky guy. Because of my blog, I have the opportunity to meet some wonderful people from all over the country and even the world. Sometimes I get the chance to meet some of them in person.

One of those people that I have had the pleasure to get to know in person is George North. George is an incredible intarsia artist but more than that he is a gentleman in every meaning of the word. George is a member of the Gwinnett Woodworkers Association. I have gotten to know several of their members because they have invited me down to Atlanta for their meetings and other events.

Today when my wife brought in the mail I had a package. When I saw the return address I was instantly excited. It was from George. Last year when we attended the GWA meeting George graciously gave my wife a gift of one of his intarsia pieces. Of course, she loves it. The kindness was so much appreciated. These intarsia projects take hours to make and receiving one as a gift is special.

I kind of knew from the shape of the package it was going to be one of Georges masterpieces. I was right, and even more special was that he made it so personal. The guys at GWA know that I am a UK basketball fanatic.

I will cherish this piece along with other special gifts I have received from my readers and friends of the Scrollsaw Workshop blog.

I wish you all could see this project in person. The contouring and assembly is impeccable. The piece is made from poplar, contoured and painted.

Thank you George for your kindness and for making my wife an I feel so welcome when we visit.

I will be a guest of Bear Woods at The Woodworking Show of Texas
this weekend.
