This is a modernly styled desk clock. It should look nice against any decor.
I consider this simple looking project to actually be an intermediate pattern. There are only four pieces and 14 inside cuts but there is a challenge. Circles. Circles can be a very difficult cut for new scrollers. Circles are unforgiving because even the smallest imperfections will be noticed by the eye.
With practice, you can learn to cut a circle and keep the blade on the pattern line all the way around. From experience, I have learned that you can cut outside the line, on the line and inside the line as long as the blade always touches the line it will look round. You just cannot have gaps between the cut and the pattern line.
In the picture below I have just completed the cut of the clock dial. Notice two things. I started the cut by making a 90-degree attack to the circle. I cut the entire circle without the blade leaving the pattern line.
If you can achieve this accurate cut then you will eliminate considerable sanding. Sanding can fix small problems but the less you have to fix the better.

I decided to make the stand and clock separtate pieces. You can glue them together if you prefer.
