Home Sweet Home Scroll Saw Pattern

I receive a lot of requests to design patterns that use 3/4" thick wood. I totally understand that because it is so much easier you get. You can run down to your local lumber store and pick up all you need. I tend to use thinner woods most of the time because I need to match the scale of the project with the thickness of the wood. For example... A Christmas ornament cut from 3/4" thick wood would look very odd. That just happens to be the type of projects I design.

I am going to try to make a conscious effort to add patterns that use 3/4" thick boards more often. I will start with this pattern.

Free Pattern from Sheila Landry Designs.

I received an email from Keith over at Sheila Landry Designs today. He asked if I would let you guys know that they have put up a new free pattern. This is a beautiful, elegant and simple design. It would make a wonderful Christmas gift for someone. These types of gifts are great to pass out on Thanksgiving Day so they can use them through the Christmas season.

Sheila and Keith have been inspiring crafters all over the world for many years. They combine their artistic talents to create some of the most beautiful projects you will ever come across.

I could go on for hours about the patterns they sell but I start to get jealous so I'll stop. I do want to point out one thing they sell that is a must-have. They do custom word art sign patterns that are just about as cool as it gets.

Have one of these designed and you have a special gift that will be cherished for years. I think the custom pattern price is either $10 or $12 depending on what you get. Add your wood and some time in front of the scroll saw and you have one gift checked off of your list.

Simply Wooden Creations Scroll Saw Artist Challenge:

I wanted to pass along a reminder that the Simply Wooden Creations Scroll Saw Artist challenge is underway. Go win some prizes. There is no theme this year so you can enter anything you like. The rules are even simpler this year. You only have to submit three pictures of the project.

Russ make this so everyone has a great chance to win a prize. They judge and select the first three winners. The remaining entries are drawn randomly and the remaining prizes are given out.

Schedule some time this weekend. Download a pattern and head to the shop. Take a picture of you cutting the pattern. Take two pictures of the completed project and you are ready to enter. How simple is that to possibly win a nice prize for your effort. You can check out the prizes on the entry page. The Scrollsaw Workshop is one of the sponsors and I am donating a $100 gift card to Bear Woods and a $50 gift card to Bear Woods. I would love to see one of you win.
