Bigfoot Scroll Saw Pattern.

Yes, I know this is a silly pattern. There will be at least one guy living in the mountains of Washington state who thinks its funny. That's good enough for me. At least the price is right.

The bigfoot, foot is about nine inches long.

Are You Square?

It is important that the blade is 90 degrees to the table when you make a cut. This keeps the pieces that you cut from being wedge-shaped. There are several ways to check for square. Some use a small machinist square. Others use a protractor but there is one very accurate techniques that does not require any extra tools.

Grab a scrap piece of wood. It's helpful if it is at least 3/4" thick.

Make a cut on one edge of the board. Just cut into the board about 1/8".

Rotate the board around to the back of the blade.

If the blade will slide into the cut then the blade is square. You see in the picture above that the blade and cut do not line up.

Make a small adjustment to the blade angle and do another small cut.

Rotate the board and check to see if the cut and blade line up now.

After one correction the blade lined up perfectly with the cut. We are now square and ready to begin cutting.

Most of the time you will get the blade square with only a couple of fine adjustments.

Here is another tip that will make the adjustment correct on the first attempt.

Line the blade up with the bottom of the angled test cut. Note the gap at the top of the test cut and the blade.

Rotate the blade half the distance of the gap noted above.

Recheck and you should be perfect.

Do you sell your scroll saw projects online?

If you sell your products online it is critical that the photos be excellent. It has been proven that bad photos equal bad sales.

Today's smartphones have excellent cameras but they are useless if the environment of the picture is bad. The easiest way to have a perfect environment for your photo is a light tent. The light tent will give you perfect lighting and a clean background.

I recently upgraded my light tent to the one above. I am very pleased with it. It comes with daylight balanced 5600k LED lights. The LED lights are internal to the tent. My old tent had external lights and that always caused trouble. These LEDs are very bright.

This tent is a large 25" X 30" X 25". It has an opening on the top for straight down shooting and of course the front. The front has a flap with a small opening to block out exterior light if needed.

This tent has improved my product photos a great deal. This is an Amazon Choice product and gets on average 4.5-star reviews.

If your product photos are anything but perfect then consider upgrading your equipment. This tent will pay for itself in extra sales.
