Mini Tea Light Lantern Scroll Saw Pattern.

This mini lantern stands just 3.75 inches tall. It holds a battery powered tea light. The front door opens with a built-in hinge. No hardware required. It is cut from 1/8" Baltic birch plywood. This project is designed for stack cutting to speed up production. If you are making multiple lanterns you can double the stack cut layers for even faster production.

I know that many brides like to have lanterns at their wedding and reception. With proper stack cutting, you can cut about two of these an hour. For most wedding receptions you could easily make one lantern per table. With a bit more effort and a small wedding, you may be able to make one for each guest to take home. Here is a good buy on a pack of 35 tea lights.

This is a perfect pattern for all my subscribers who use a laser to cut the patterns. You can see in the image below that the pattern will easily fit on a 12" X 12" sheet of BB ply with room left over. Remember that when I publish the PDF that I make sure the patterns pages are still vectors. They can be imported into your software and edited.

Please do not consider using real tea light candles in this lantern. They are too small and the top could heat to combustion. I apologize for stating the obvious but I will get email if I don't include this warning.

You can see in this picture that I used the technique of stack cutting to significantly speed of this project. The top row is three layers. The middle row is two layers and the bottom row are single layer cuts. You can double this and cut two lanterns at once.
