Wooden Pour Over Coffee Stand Scroll Saw Pattern.

Here is a project for all you coffee lovers. This is called a pour-over coffee stand. I don't drink coffee so I was not familiar with these DIY coffee drippers. A reader asked me if I would design one and this is what I came up with. Here is a Google image search for several different designs. They come in all shapes and sizes.

There are several of these online but what makes this one unique is the wooden funnel. The funnel adds a little challenge to the project but I think it looks better than using a store funnel. If you want to make the project much easier then find a funnel. See the last picture and link for a funnel from Amazon.

The funnel holds a #2 coffee filter well but I think you could use a larger filter and cover more of the funnel. Maybe even fold the filter over the top of the funnel.

I have no idea how to tell you how much coffee to add. Like I said I don't drink coffee. As far as I can remember I don't think I have ever even tasted coffee. When I tested this project I just poured in some coffee and looked to see if it came out black. :)

The wife said I was using a teapot but you could not prove it by me. I just boiled water in the microwave and poured that in the filter. It only took five minutes or less to fill the cup.

I tried to make it large enough to hold a large coffee cup. You can make the base larger if needed.
Also, note that I rounded over all the edges to give the unit a nice feel.

This is optional but if you cut the joints tight enough you can skip the glue and break down the unit for storage or camping trips. Glue it together if storage is not necessary. Don't glue on the funnel. You want to remove the funnel to clean it.

I sprayed the unit with spray acrylic but I still would just use a damp towel to clean it.

I found a five-inch funnel at Meijer. The link below is to a similar one on Amazon.
