Love You Dad Scroll Saw Pattern.

It's almost Father's Day. I lost my father many years ago but I still think of him all the time. I was ten years old when he passed away. I wish I had one more chance to tell him how much I love him. He always let me know he loved me. He was a great dad.

He was born in 1911. My grandparents were farmers so all the sons had to work hard. He grew up with a strong work ethic. He worked hard every day until the day he passed. That day was the first day of work he missed in years if ever.

He worked for Mr. Kresge the founder of what became K-mart. He managed several of the K-mart food stores. Some of you may remember that in the early days most K-marts had grocery stores attached. We would move to a city and open a new K-mart food store. After it got running well we would move to the next one. We moved a lot. In my life, I have lived in over 50 locations.

My dad worked a lot of hours but he always had time for me. I would even go to work with him and stock the shelves or aggravate the other employees. I was stocking shelves when I was 5 or 6 years old. I remember always wanting to show him I did a good job. I'm sure I actually did a terrible job.

On this Father's Day, I hope you have the opportunity to tell your dad you love him. I may not be able to tell my dad face to face but I will still spend a few minutes alone letting him know I still think of him all the time.

GRR-RIPPER 3D Pushblock for Table Saws, Router Tables, Band Saws, and Jointers by MICROJIG

This is an ad. I want to be upfront that if you buy this product I get a kickback. I have owned and used this jig for years. It practically eliminates accidents on the table saw if used correctly. Approximately 67,000 woodworkers are injured every year on table saws. Most of those accidents happen because proper safety precautions were not taken. It happens in a split second. Accidents happen but you want to minimize them as much as possible.

This tool is not cheap in price at $57 but if it stops one accident it is worth every penny. I don't use this jig for every cut. There are many times where the cut is safe without this jig. When I have a cut to make that I am not sure is safe then I pull out the Gripper.

I hear some people say that it takes too long to set the jig up. I have not found that to be true. It is designed to be easy to set up and normally only takes seconds.

I do also have and use a couple different push sticks. They work great for many cuts but the Gripper really shines for those tricky cuts that even push sticks make me nervous.

Whatever you do just be safe in your shop. Spend at least a few seconds before every operation to think if what you are about to do is safe. If in doubt figure out what you can do to make it safer.
