Dog Paw Prints Scroll Saw Pattern.

"Dogs leave paw prints on your heart." This pattern is over 10 inches long. It is 5.25 inches tall. You can cut it from a 6-inch wide board. 3/4" thick will work fine. This is a pattern that you can use a clear pine or poplar board and it looks fine. That's nice because you can easily find those boards at the local Home Depot or Lowes.

Pet projects can sell well at craft shows. This one would probably sell but you would lose money. You will have a difficult time getting the cost of your time covered. It would probably take me over an hour to cut this project. It would be difficult to stack cut so production time would be a problem.

If I were doing a show and wanted to have pet items I would probably take two or three of these. I would charge at least $25 and may not sell any of them. I would use them to draw attention to the higher profit easier to produce products.

Set one of these above your pet Christmas ornaments. If someone wants to buy it great if not then you just used it for advertising.

Safety Ruler:

Buy on Amazon

I always try to carefully select the products I advertise. I don't always own them but I always do some research first. In the case of this safety ruler, I do own and use one.

When I have a straight edge on a pattern I will usually try to place it on the edge of the board. One less cut and it's straight. When I do this I cut the pattern on the line. I use an Exacto knife and ruler to make the cut. It's faster and more accurate than scissors.

On one occasion I was making a cut with a ruler and Exacto knife and slipped. The cut was not terrible but I did bleed all over my pattern.

I had seen safety rulers but never used one. I ordered this one from Amazon and it works great. I have owned it for over a year. I use it for all straight line cuts.

The safety flap folds up and down so it is out of your way when not needed. The best feature is the non-skid rubber under the ruler. It stays in place. It is well constructed.

This ruler is not cheap. It runs $18.49 on Amazon. For me, it was worth the price. I don't like to cut bloody patterns. :)
