The Hand of God Scroll Saw Pattern.

I made a masterpiece in one hour and thirty minutes. Okay, Michelangelo gets the credit for the masterpiece but I made the pattern. That should count for something.

This is a very simple pattern with only a few interior cuts. There is quite a bit of veining but the cut goes really quick. From pattern on wood to paint dry, I finished this in just over 1 hour and 30 minutes. To be honest the paint needed a bit more dry time but I got impatient and glued it up.

The project is three layers of 1/4" Baltic birch plywood.

In this next picture, you can see the veining in the hands of the front layer and the cracks of the second layer.

The second layer is spray painted light grey and then speckled with black spray paint to give it some distressing. The back layer is spray painted black.

Notice that I masked off the painted layers to leave a glue surface. The layers are then stacked and glued on the edges.

The Hand of God comes from the Michelangelo masterpiece titled "The Creation of Adam". Michelangelo painted the fresco from 1508-1512. The work forms part of the Sistine Chapel ceiling.

Final Dayton Artistry in Wood Show:

The 38th and final Artistry in Wood show will be October 12th and 13th, 2019. The show is held at the Roberts Centre in Wilmington Ohio. Show hours are 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.

This show has always been primarily a carving show but recently has included a few scroll saw vendors and artists. I am planning to attend the show this year. I will be in the Bear Woods booth if everything comes together.

My wife will hopefully be recovered from her surgery by then but is she can't travel I should still be able to attend. It is only a 2.5 hour trip for me.

If you are able to travel to the show I hope to see you there.
