Switch Plate Toppers Scroll Saw Pattern. Patty's surgery went fine. Thank you all.

27 Switch Plate Topper designs. No glue or tape install.  These switch toppers can add a little design element to those plain switch and wall plug plates. The designs are a bit random because I was just playing with the idea. If they are a popular download I'll do some more themed patterns later.

These are cut from 1/8" thick Baltic birch plywood. 1/8" thick BB ply can be difficult to cut accurately. It is often easier to stack cut two or more.

To install the switch topper without glue or tape we will use thin cardboard on the back of the topper.

All you have to do is loosen the switch plate and slide the topper behind the edge. Tighten the screws and you are finished.

Thank you for your kind well wishes, thoughts, and prayers:

I received hundreds of emails of support for my wife while she recovers from surgery. The surgery went fine in no small part because of your prayers. Patty was touched by all the support. She says thank you.

The device was implanted but it will take a few weeks before we get it programmed completely. They have to wait for the surgery to heal and then start tweaking the settings. For those of you who missed the earlier post about her surgery, she had a spinal stimulator implanted to control chronic pain.

One thing that became clear from all the emails was how common chronic pain is. I bet 30% of the emails were from people who were sufferers or caregivers of sufferers. In many cases, the pain was bad enough to effectively disable the person. I read dozens of stories of failed and successful treatments.

There were several emails from people who are considering a spinal stimulator but were uncertain whether to proceed or not. My wife had the same questions and concerns about the implant. It is scary when they get that close to your spine. It's a tough decision. We are just starting to learn the process but if you have questions, my wife is happy to answer what she can. We are not experts on the device but she can relate her experience so far. I will also keep everyone updated as time goes by.

Thanks again for the kind support. I read all the email but it was not possible to answer each one. I know you will understand. Just know that they were important to us.

MLCS 9080 Billy Pedal Foot Switch, Deadman Style

Add control to your scroll saw. I use a footswitch on all my scroll saws. It gives me instant start-stop and keeps my hands free to hold the workpiece. If a cut starts to get away from you there is no delay in stopping the blade while you reach for the switch.

Most scrollers prefer the deadman style of switch. It gives the most instant control. On a deadman switch, the saw runs while your foot is pressing the switch and stops when you lift your foot. I have a few of the switch in this ad. They have performed well for me. On occasion, I have to open the switch and blow out the dust. Other than that they have worked perfectly.

If you have never used a footswitch with your scroll saw I suggest you give one a try. This one is $23 so it won't break the bank and may change the way you scroll.
