4" Flower Pot Stand Scroll Saw Pattern.

Download Below

This organic shape flower pot display stand holds 4" flower pots. I made a few changes to the pattern after I finished the project. In the picture, the branches were cut from 1/4" thick wood. I changed that to 1/2" to give it more strength.

The top of the branches, where they attach to the round plates there are cross members that you cannot see in this picture. The plates are glued to these cross members and there is a tab that fits into a slot on the plates. It's more secure than it looks in the picture.

The stand is about 13" wide and 12" tall with the pots.

The stand is strong enough for these 4" pots but if you go with larger pots it may get tippy.

This is a link to the flower pots on Amazon. To be honest you can find these cheaper at Walmart so look there if you have the opportunity. They are often under $2 a pot.

The width of the base is 8" wide and 4" deep.

Inkscape Tutorials by TJ Free: Design your own Scroll Saw Patterns.

Designing your own scroll saw patterns can be a lot of fun. If you just want to edit one of my patterns or start from scratch this playlist of videos will help. The videos are not produced by me. I just found the best playlist of tutorials I could find on YouTube.

There is a free program named Inkscape that can be used for many types of graphic design applications. It works quite well for designing scroll saw patterns. The learning curve can be a bit steep so having someone show you the basics in a video can be very helpful.

A YouTuber named TJ Free has put together a nice playlist of Inkscape tutorials. These tutorials are not specific to designing scroll saw patterns but most of the information is generic.

Inkscape is available for Window PC, MAC, and Linux. It is completely free. It is not as easy to use or as powerful as the software I use but it is hundreds of dollars cheaper. Free is a good price.

Don't get discouraged if the software seems overwhelming at first. There are many features and tools to learn. The good news is that as pattern designers we only work in black and white line drawings. Inkscape is a full-featured vector graphics program with lots of features you will not need. Learn the basic and start drawing patterns. You can do quite a bit with just the basics.

This YouTuber does a professional job demonstrating the tools and techniques. His voice is pleasing and clear. Those are often not what you find on YouTube so I think you will be pleased with his lessons.

Stephen, from Bear Woods, demonstrates the Pegas Scroll Saw low vibration:

My friend, Stephen Dinesen, owner of Bear Woods demonstrates the low vibration of the Pegas 21" scroll saw. This video was taken at the Midwest Scroll Saw and Woodworking Trade show a few weeks ago. The quality of the video is a bit poor but the information is good.

Stephen also shows their new Marathon K-35 Cube micromotor product. It is a 35,000 rpm power carving tool that is well built and comfortable. I have one in the shop and will be reviewing it soon. If you have priced these micromotors you know that they can be quite expensive. The Marathon K-35 selles for under $175.
