Tropical Fish Silhouette Scroll Saw Pattern.

Download Below

I cut this fish silhouette from 1/4" Baltic birch plywood and spray painted it black. The project stands just over 10.5 inches tall. The bottom base is 8.5 inches wide.

It looks fragile and it is but not so bad that you can't cut it. There are not too many interior cuts so the board stays pretty solid until you cut the perimeter. When you are ready to cut the perimeter don't start cutting from the edge of the board. Drill an entry hole outside the pattern and cut from there. This will keep the board more stable and less likely to cause a break.

Isaac knocks it out of the park. 1,000 toys in one day, plus!

View Bear Woods Facebook page for video

Isaac wanted to put together an event to make 1,000 toys for children in need. He wanted to do it in one day. A marathon cut. We put out the word for volunteers and you folks stepped up. The last I heard they had over 50 volunteers cutting, and pledged over 2,000 toys. That is double the goal. I would say that it is a success.

Isaac is the son of Bear Woods owner Stephen Dinesen. I believe he is 15 years old. I know how proud Stephen is in Isaac and it's for good reason. For a young man to decide to spend an entire Saturday making toys for sick and underprivileged children is just special. Thank you, Isaac.

Isaac has a good role model in Stephen. Bear Woods is always looking for ways to give back to the community. Stephen does a lot of his charitable work behind the scenes. This is the kind of company that I am proud to be associated with. Good people.

Thanks to all the volunteers who participated. I know that your local children's charities will appreciate the time and effort you put into this project for them.

Bear Woods carries many of your wood crafting supplies and tools. They are a source for the Pegas 21" scroll saw and Pegas brand scroll saw blades. Clock parts, hardware, wooden parts, and adding more products every month. Support the businesses that support our hobby.
