Desk Clock and Pen Scroll Saw Pattern.

 Download Below

This is a unique desk clock with a pen holder. The clock is angled just enough to make it easy to read while sitting at the desk. You can see it from your chair behind the desk and your visitor sitting in from of the desk can also see it.

There are just four parts to the clock. The clock is assembled with a slot and tab. There is also a 1/4" diameter dowel across the back to add strength. The clock insert is 2 3/4" - 2 7/8" with a 2 1/4" or 2 3/8" diameter mounting hole. Make sure you know which insert you have before you cut the mounting hole.

For the best accuracy, you can use a large Forstner bit to drill the mounting hole. These large Forstner bits are expensive so don't worry about cutting the mounting hole with your scroll saw. Just slightly undercut the hole and sand to a tight fit of the clock insert.

I get my clocks from Bear Woods. Here is a link to the ones you need

Chris Schoenberg of the Third Coast Craftsman does a functional restoration of an 1800's era scroll saw:

Watch the Video

This wonderful old pedal-powered scroll saw found a good home. Chris Schoenberg of the Third Coast Craftsman YouTube channel purchased this saw and decided to restore it to a functional condition. I really appreciate the fact that he wants to use this saw and just not display it. It is a beautiful saw but also functional for rough fretwork.

These early 19th-century scroll saws were used to create ornate gingerbread trim, clocks, picture frames, ornate furniture and more. The craftsmen of this time period must have been in pretty good condition to scroll all day on a pedal-powered scroll saw. :)

Take a few minutes to watch the video. Make sure you give Chris a thumbs up and leave a comment. Chris is a very skilled craftsman and he does a nice job in front of the camera. I enjoy his video and I think you will also so consider subscribing to his channel.

Thanks, Chris for a neat video.

RIKON 51-200 12-Inch Disc Sander

I have owned this Rikon disk sander for a few years and I like it very much. The rack and pinion are strong and accurate. The 1/2hp motor is plenty strong for tough jobs. The unit is heavy so any vibration is minimal.

If you need a disk sander, and who doesn't, the Rikon is a contender.

  • Rack and Pinion Table Adjustment
  • Large Working Table: 17-1/8-by-6-1/2-Inch working surface to securely support your work-piece
  • Dust Collection: Disc is designed with fan fins to aid in drawing dust away from the work-piece for cleaner sanding operation.
  • 1/2HP Motor
