Concentric Ring Basket Scroll Saw Pattern.

Download Below

These concentric ring baskets are easy to cut and don't take too much wood. The whole basketweave is cut from one flat board. The rings are then rotated and stacked to make the basket. You have to be careful when you do the glue-up. It is easy to add too much glue and get a lot of excess glue sneaking out. Just wait for the glue to dry and chip it off with the point of a knife.

WEN Air Filtration System now back at a decent price on Amazon:

I am not going to review this WEN Air Filtration unit again. I have done that before. I just wanted to mention that the price has finally dropped back down again. It has been up around $155 lately and even made it up to $185 for a few days. Now it is back to $126.38

I monitor the price on the unit because I feel it is a nice extra safety precaution for your small shop. I use mine every time I am in my shop. I set the timer and just let it run even after I leave the shop to clean the air.

I had a woodworker friend pass away a couple years ago. The diagnosis was pulmonary fibrosis. The suspected cause was years of inhaling wood dust. That woke me up for sure. I had always used my mask when I was doing heavy dust-producing jobs but would often skip the mask when scrolling. That is a bad idea.

The face mask is the number one preventative measure you should take. Air filtration just adds a second level of safety. It is the fine particles that float in the air that cause the most trouble for your health. This air filtration system removes those particles down to 5 microns in size.

Air quality testing equipment is expensive so I don't have hard statistics on how well this unit works. I do feel like I can see less dust floating in the air after I do a heavy dust-producing job. When I empty my dust collector the air is full of dust. With this unit on the shop clears out in just minutes. That was all the proof I needed.

If you are interested in air quality equipment, here is a link to a video by Matthias Wandel. He purchased an air quality meter and shows some tips he used in his shop.
